3D Printing and Library Love

Naomi Chiu '21 Forrest Hills, NY

My name is Naomi Chiu, and I am in the class of 2021 as a Mechanical Engineering major. I am from Forrest Hills, NY. My research mainly involves energy harvesting mechanisms that take ambient vibrations and generate power that can be used for sensors. Some other projects include 3D printing organs and molds from MRI scans for surgical laser calibration and testing.

Most of my free time at Olin is spent in the shop, either machining parts or getting training on new tools.

For extracurriculars, I am in Formula SAE, and Quizbowl.

One sentence I would use to describe my time at Olin would be “You don’t need me to do it for you, you can do it for yourself.”
