Fun and Engaging

Keenan Zucker '18 Mountain View High School, Los Altos, California

Why did you choose Olin?

I choose Olin because I wanted to be engaged and challenged in a hands-on learning environment. I knew I wanted to study engineering, but didn't know where to specialize, so Olin was the perfect place to study a variety of engineering practices in a project-based manner that would teach me real world applications of what I was working on.

What extracurricular activities (or co-curricular or hobbies) are you involved in at Olin? Outside of Olin?

Club soccer, ultimate, volleyball, Olin BAJA, Stay Late and Create (SLAC), attending hackathons, longboarding.

What is your favorite thing about Olin? Why do you think Olin is different from other undergraduate engineering schools?

My favorite thing about Olin is the community of support between students, NINJAs, and professors. The courses here are challenging, but working in groups and teams not only increases my personal learning, but makes the work more fun and engaging. The work here never seems like busywork or just learning to take tests, which I think is special to Olin compared to other undergraduate engineering educations.

What are some things that you’re passionate about?

Soccer, Music, Cars, Backpacking, Adventures!
