Leading Workshops to Get kids Excited About STEM

Mary Martin '18,  Mechanical Engineering

Admission Ambassador

Hi! My name is Mary Martin and I’m a Mechanical Engineering major in the Class of 2018. I’m from Rochester, New York and I participated in FIRST Robotics competitions in high school. (Go Team 2340!) I am currently doing research with Sara Hendren, a design professor here at Olin who focuses on assistive and accessible design. I am on the leadership team for the educational outreach club, engineering Discovery. We spend time going to schools and leading workshops to get kids excited about STEM, and it’s a ton of fun! I am also involved with the Olin Volunteer Ambassadors League (OVAL), leading tours and helping at events. In my free time I blues dance and take ballroom lessons with the Babson-Olin-Wellesley club. I can talk to you about research, education, service, dance or just life in general at Olin!
