Boxing, Basketball, and Ukulele!

Anika Payano ’20 Admission Ambassador

My name is Anika Payano and I am a member of the Class of 2020 at Olin from Bronx, New York. I am considering majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Biotechnology. I am involved in a lot of activities outside of class as well as off campus. I partake in our educational outreach club, Engineering Discovery (eDisco), play on Babson’s club basketball team, and participate in Babson’s intramural basketball with other Oliners. I also have random interests and hobbies like: Boxing, playing the ukulele, juggling, and playing Guitar Hero.

My favorite thing about Olin is the people. Everyone here has such unique experiences and the ones I've gotten to know really well, are just amazing people have made me feel like I belong here. The one big difference I see about Olin compared to other schools is the focus on project work and just the structure of classes themselves. I think it is a great learning environment and it really helps everyone succeed here.
